May 1, 2023 — In the most recent graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report, Wichita State University’s College of Engineering continued its steady ascent, landing in the 47th spot for the 2023-24 academic year. Additionally, the College of Health Profession’s physician associate program is debuting in the rankings at No. 65.
April 21, 2023 — Corri Newman is senior communications sciences and disorders major in the College of Health Professions and a member of the WSU Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (WSUSSLHA) and serves as its NSSLHA chair. After she graduates, she plans to attend graduate school to become a speech-language pathologist.
April 19, 2023 - Wichita State’s select team boasts a local contingent not found on rosters since the program’s early days in the 1970’s. Wichita State’s bowling teams are in Las Vegas this week for the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles and Team Championships.
March 22, 2023 – Wichita State University nursing students on the WSU main campus and Kansas State University campus celebrated their Nightingale Nursing Commitment Ceremonies on March 3. Students recited and signed the modern Nightingale Pledge as a commitment to uphold the standards of the nursing profession.
Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC’s “Today” and Wichita native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of Wichita students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC’s “Today” featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.
Feb. 7, 2023 - Actor, digital creator and TikTok influencer Chris Olsen will speak about his rise to fame during An Evening with Chris Olsen at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Wichita State University Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex.
Dec. 1, 2022 - Zhi Wei Won used her time at Wichita State to work on skills in and out of the classroom. She met new people and expanded her social circle through school activities. Nov. 30, 2022 — Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School – Joe Johnson – started her on a path to Wichita State University as the first person in her family to attend college. Aug. 24, 2022 - Wichita State University welcomed the first class for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program on the Kansas State University campus.
June 27, 2022 — The WSU College of Health Professions was awarded a $100,000 grant from the Patterson Family Foundation to support scholarships for health professions students from rural Kansas counties.
